If you're viewing this form, you are likely considering to join the executive board of the American Medical Student Association Pre-Medical Chapter! Assuming the role of an officer in AMSA, the largest pre-health organization at the University of Pittsburgh, is both a challenging yet rewarding experience. As an officer, you will have the privilege and responsibility of leading, mentoring, and ultimately influencing the paths of hundreds of students. By doing so, you are uniquely placed to make a lasting impact in the Pitt community. The questions below will require you to ponder, reflect, and analyze, ultimately helping you articulate your thoughts and exciting you to the prospect of holding the office to which you're applying for.
You have the opportunity to apply to two different positions to maximize your potential to receive a board position. IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO 2 positions, you must write a separate section for each position (i.e. describe your qualifications for both). Please note that you DO NOT have to apply to two positions. While you may interview for 2 positions, you will only be able to give a speech for one. See below for a description of all available positions.
A quick tip: write out all your responses on Word or a GoogleDoc and then simply copy/paste them here!
Applications are due on March 18th, by 11:59 PM. Once the deadline has passed, we will be in contact with you regarding the interview stage. Interviews will be conducted from March 20th through March 23rd via Zoom. If you are chosen after the interview stage you will be required to give a speech during the AMSA General Body Meeting on Wednesday, April 1st. We will provide you with more details following your interview.
Because the entire E-Board application/interview process will be virtual, please check your e-mail frequently to ensure you do not miss any new information or deadlines!
Please direct any questions you may have to Ria and Parth at ris118@pitt.edu.
